Bill Gates must be a happy man. Yesterday at a conference in Los Angeles, he announced that Microsoft has sold more than 40 million licenses of Windows Vista within 100 days of its launch which was on January 30.
Gates also mentioned that a fast paced shift to digital lifestyle enabled them to sell a staggering 31.2 million licenses of premium editions alone. Microsoft was and is still trying every bit to convince a buyer to go for Vista because of its new eye pleasing UI and better security functions. No bifurcation was given about how many copies were sold in the retail market or how many were sold through free upgrade.
