We know Apple has big plans. And one of the steps to make it bigger is to launch iPods which will feature Wi-Fi connectivity. DigiTimes speculates about the new iPods to be launched in the second half of this year. According to their source, Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) will manufacture the Wi-Fi modules while Foxconn will produce the players.
The Wi-Fi enabled iPods make sense as its competitor Zune offers this feature although with some restrictions. One of the major advantages of having a built-in Wi-Fi would be that a user could connect to the iTunes store and download songs on the go. Don’t think that Apple would unveil its new line of iPod soon because it’s the iPhone pressure which is mounting on each and every Apple employee.
