What if India denied the $100 $130 laptop. At the IDF held in Bangalore, Intel unveiled its classmate PC targeted at students and teachers. Its still a long way when laptops will be allowed to schools in India but its small form factor makes it easier for a small kid to carry and its rugged design makes the PCs “kid-proof”. The configuration is sub standard compared to other laptops but this one’s for your kiddie not for you. The Classmate will be available at a price tag of around Rs. 20000 ($437) by November.
