Sony yesterday announced five new products for the Indian market ranging from digital camera, TV, a touchscreen-enabled laptop and personal 3D viewer. Sony announced A99 DSLR and RX100 point-and-shoot camera. The Alpha A99 is a full-frame camera from Sony that features translucent mirror technology, dual auto-focus, full HD video support and lots more. Alpha A99 will be available in India from mid-November.
The RX100 digital camera is the first Cyber-shot with 1.0-type Exmor CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20.2 megapixels and has a sensor four times larger than the 1/2.3-type imager and a F1.8 lens. It comes with 3.6x optical zoom and full HD video recording support. RX100 is available now for Rs. 34,990.
Next product to be announced is the X9000 Bravia TV. It is Sony’s first 84-inch television with 4K resolution for the Indian market and supports upscaling of HD content to 4K resolution, apps support and 10 unit live speaker system for top notch audio quality. Sony will start pre-orders from October 20 with a launch slated for around end of November for a price of Rs. 16,99,900.
Sony also unveiled new VAIO notebooks from the VAIO T and VAIO E Series running Windows 8 and equipped with touchscreen displays. The new VAIO notebooks are expected sometime in November.
The final product to be unveiled is the personal 3D viewer HMZ-T2, which is a head-mounted display for viewing 2D and 3D videos. Sony says the device is equipped with two OLED displays giving a 45degree field of vision and virtual surround sound 5.1 support. The personal 3D viewer will sell from mid-November for Rs. 69,990.
