AMD is sprucing up the competition by introducing their latest Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) optimized for Windows 8 tablets. AMD claims the Z-60 is their only APU to consume the lowest power while giving an optimum all day performance, reduced boot times, full HD video playback support and gaming performance powered by AMD Radeon.
Designed to fit tablets as thin as 10mm, the Z-60 APU boasts 2 processing cores clocked at 1GHz and features AMD Radeon HD 6250, USB 3.0 support and AppZone that allows up to 50 Android apps to run on PC.
AMD is now shipping the APU to manufacturers and expects the products powered by the APU to be available with the availability of Windows 8, which means by October-end.
