Google at their Google I/O developer event announced the latest version of Android. The Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean will take over from the Android 4.0 OS and bring in improved performance along with enhanced features.
Jelly Bean possesses what Google calls the Project Butter. This ensures devices with Android 4.1 experience a smoother and responsive UI across the system. Other improved features include expandable notifications, Android Beam that can also beam videos and photos, Gesture Mode, improved camera interface, resizable app widgets and more.
Google will release the Android 4.1 update in July to devices like Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Motorola Xoom.
