Motorola has finally announced the successor(s) of its first Xoom tablet. The Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition tablets go for a different set of crowds with the Xoom 2 going for the suits whereas Xoom 2 Media Edition targeted at consumers for leisure activities.
However, despite this little segregation both tablets are packed with features like Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 1.3MP and 5MP HD cameras with autofocus. The differentiations begin from the screen size with Xoom 2 matching Xoom’s 10.1-inch whereas Xoom 2 Media Edition measuring 8.2-inches. Both are HD-supporting displays but Media Edition’s display is better suited for wide viewing angles. Also, the Xoom 2 is heavier than the Media Edition that weighs 113g more and 4 hours of extra battery life than Media Edition’s 6 hours.
Motorola will release the Wi-Fi-only variant of both the tablets in UK from mid-November.
