Sony today announced its new NEX range for the Indian market. The NEX range sits nicely between point-and-shoot and DSLR that promises to give the compactness of a small camera but picture quality equivalent to a DSLR camera.
The cameras – NEX-3 and NEX-5 are spec’d similarly with some additional features making the NEX-5 superior. Both the cams are equipped with an APS-C sized sensor, which is said to be 60 percent larger than micro four-thirds and comes with BIONZ imaging processor.
The 14.2MP shooting cameras support Background Defocus, 7fps high-speed shooting, 3D Sweep Panorama, HDMI-out, tilt-able screen, 720p or 1080i video recording (NEX-3 and NEX-5 respectively). Another thing that sets out NEX-5 from its sibling is the magnesium alloy chassis.
The NEX-3 will come in color options of Black and Red for Rs.29,990 and NEX-5 in Black for Rs.34,990.
