Samsung has announced some new digital cameras and camcorders at the ongoing PMA expo in California. The cameras unveiled are – TL500, TL350, AQ100 and SL605. TL500 is the flagship product for Samsung in the compact camera range. The 10MP shooter offers 3x optical zoom and has a f/1.8 lens that is said to be the brightest lens for a compact camera. It also has a swiveling 3-inch AMOLED screen, large 1/1.7” sensor, RAW support, Smart Auto, dual image stabilization and more. It will sell for $449.99.
TL350 is special in its own way. The camera is capable to shoot still images at 10MP and videos at full HD resolution. During the dual capture mode, a user will be able to capture images while he’s shooting video. With the integration of an advanced CMOS sensor and re-engineered DRIMeIII processor, the camera is able to shoot videos at 1000fps and images with a burst rate of 10 images/second. Rounding up the whole feature set is 3-inch AMOLED screen, 5x optical zoom, Advanced Panorama shot with Object Tracking, RAW support. It will retail for $349.99.
The SL605 is kind of a rugged camera that comes with various coverings to protect the camera. The design consists of a metal front cover, dust-proof button-pad and anti-scratch mask. When you’re considering its photography prowess, it’s able to click pictures at 12MP resolution and features 5x optical zoom, Smart Auto etc. Price: $129.99
AQ100 is for those wanting to take the camera under water. The camera can shoot videos and pictures under water for up to 10 feet and comes with regular Samsung camera features. Additional things you’d find are 720p video recording and Photo Style Selector. It will sell for $199.99.
Moving onto camcorders, Samsung made two pocket HD camcorders official – HMX-U15 and HMX-U20. Both camcorders are built on the success of HMX-U10 but come with additional features. The HMX-U20 integrates 3x optical zoom as well as 8/10MP still image shooting whereas the U15 forgoes optical zoom for additional megapixels, which in this case is 14MP.
Both can capture full HD video using H.264 compression and comes with HDMI-out port and integrated USB cable for sharing and charging on the go. Other features include one-touch upload to YouTube, intelli-studio editing suite, hyper digital image stabilization. U15 and U20 will sell for $229.99 and $249.99 respectively.
