Intel introduced the new 45nm based Core i5 and two Core i7 processors yesterday. Codenamed as Lynnfield, the Nehalem based Core i5 750 is the smaller sibling of Core i7 900 series CPUs that clocks at 2.66GHz with an ability to overclock up to 3.2GHz. It also has 8MB cache with 1333MHz FSB, TDP at 95W and integrates a 2 channel memory controller, 16-lane PCIe 2.0 graphics port. Intel has set a price of $196 for 1000 units.
New processors in the Core i7 family are 870 and 860. Both quad-core processors clock at 2.93GHz and 2.80GHz with 8MB cache and support Intel’s Hyper-threading technology. The price for both the processors are $562 (870) and $284 (860) for 1000 units.
