Google will be rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to Nexus devices. The developer version was available since March 2016. Android Nougat reflects input from thousands of fans and developers all over the world.
There are over 250 major features in Android Nougat, including VR Mode in Android. It also adds platform support for Vulkan, a low-overhead, cross-platform API for high-performance, 3D graphics. Multi-Window support and Direct Reply so users can reply directly to notifications without having to open the app. Nougat also brings new features like File-based encryption, seamless updates, multi-window, direct reply, quick switch and direct boot.
Nougat also features new 72 new emojis out of a total of 1500 emojis. Other inclusions are Quick Settings controls that gives you easy access to things like bluetooth, WiFi and flashlight. You can even manage the tiles and drag and drop where you like.
With the multi-locale support, Apps in Android Nougat will tailor your locale settings. So if you speak multiple languages, for instance, then search engines can show results in each of those languages.
Starting today and rolling out over the next several weeks, the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G (Android One) will get an over-the-air software update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will also receive this final version. Also, the upcoming LG V20 will feature Android Nougat out of the box.
