Alcatel One Touch this week announced a slew of smartphones for the Indian market. With an initial focus on south and west regions, Alcatel showed off the Idol and Hero range of smartphones that includes the Hero, Idol X, Idol Mini 2, Idol 2 and Idol 2 Mini. The two series will cater to the mid-range and top-end segment and though Alcatel is playing coy with the exact price of the handsets, they did confirm them to price in between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000.
The mid-range Idol series boasts phones with displays ranging from 4.3-inch to 5-inch, quad-core processor (Idol Mini is the only one to have a dual-core), up to 2GB RAM and a really slim and compact design.
The Hero as the name suggests is the marquee product for Alcatel with a 6-inch Full HD display, quad-core processor, 13 megapixel and 2 megapixel cameras, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot, 3400mAh battery. The phone also comes with a Bluetooth accessory called Sidekick, which is nothing but a small phone to carry out calls from the large phablet.
