The “thermonuclear war” between Apple and Samsung seems to fizzle out as both companies have confirmed to withdraw their ongoing litigations in eight countries.
Both companies have been battling in court over patent infringements since 2011 and now they’ll withdraw all cases in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, South Korea and UK. Interestingly, Apple and Samsung will continue to duke it out in the United States.
Apple and Samsung have agreed to drop all litigation between the two companies outside the United States. This agreement does not involve any licensing arrangements, and the companies are continuing to pursue the existing cases in U.S. courts.
