Samsung today announced three new accessories that will aid disabled and visually impaired users take advantage of smartphone’s accessibility features. The Ultrasonic cover, Optical Scan Sheet and Voice Label are currently optimised for Samsung’s Galaxy Core Advance but Samsung promises to expand the availability to other Galaxy devices as well.
The Ultrasonic Cover will allows users to detect obstacles and get notified by the app through vibration or TTS feedback. The cover can sense objects and people up to two meters away. The Optical Scan Stand is the second accessory that automatically activates the Optical Scan application and reads aloud the text from an image. Finally, the Voice Label assists users in distinguishing objects by allowing them to make notes and tag voice labels easily with with NFC.
