Lenovo today announced their Yoga tablet that follows the footsteps of its successful Yoga convertible laptop. The Yoga tablet is culmination of the partnership with Hollywood actor and entrepreneur Ashton Kutcher who’s been hired by Lenovo as a Product Engineer. Lenovo says Kutcher “will work with the company’s engineering teams around the world to develop and market the Yoga line of tablets by providing input and decision-making into design, specifications, software and usage scenarios.”
The Lenovo Yoga tablet supports three modes – withhold, tilt and stand modes which Lenovo claims to give a better way to use a tablet. The tablet is fitted with a cylindrical handle that makes it easier for the user to hold the tablet. Users can use the tilt mode by just laying the Yoga tablet down while the stand mode can be used by rotating side cylinder 90 degrees.
On the hardware side, Lenovo’s Yoga tablet comes in two display options – 8-inch and 10-inch that has a display resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Both are powered by MediaTek processors – MT8125 for WiFi models and MT8389 for 3G – Android 4.2, Dolby audio, 5MP auto focus camera with front-facing camera, microSD card slot and up to 18 hours of battery life, which is housed in the cylindrical handle of the device.
The 8-inch Yoga tablet and 10-inch Yoga tablet will be available from today in the US for $249 and $299 respectively.
