Apple today announced its updated iMac range that includes faster processor as well as GPU. The updated iMac now sports Intel’s fourth-generation quad-core processors, faster graphics, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and PCIe flash storage.
The 21.5-inch iMac features a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and Iris Pro graphics while the top-end 21.5-inch model and both 27-inch models feature up to 3.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processors and NVIDIA GeForce 700 series graphics. Consumers will also be able to upgrade their machines with quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 3.5 GHz and Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M series graphics with up to 4GB of video memory.
Additionally, the faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi supports up to three times faster wireless performance compared to 802.11n and support for PCIe-based flash storage that will make Fusion Drive and other flash storage up to 50 percent faster than what it was previously.
The new iMac is now available in India and the price of different SKUs are as below.
21.5-inch iMac with 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 at Rs. 99,900
21.5-inch iMac with a 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M for Rs. 114,900
27-inch iMac with a 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 755M for Rs. 139,900
27-inch iMac with a 3.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 775M for Rs. 154,900
