With Apple at the fore for a rumoured smart watch, it seems every major company wants to jump in the fray to create their version of a wrist watch. Latest in line is Microsoft who according to Wall Street Journal has asked their suppliers in Asia to “ship components for a potential watch-style device.”
The newspaper couldn’t confirm if Microsoft plans to launch it eventually but Microsoft is testing the prototype with a 1.5-inch display. However, if the smart watch does happen from Microsoft, it will be powered by Windows Phone 8 OS along with its tile user interface.
Wearable electronics like smart watches are expected to be the next big thing in the mobile industry. Smart Watches tend to offer somewhat a different usability than a regular smartphone. For instance, a watch could record a body temperature, accurately measure steps and so on.
