When you integrate a SoC optimised for mobile devices in a gaming console, you do need to follow ‘an annual mobile model,’ which is what OUYA will do. The console maker has confirmed to Engadget that there will be new OUYA console every year.
There will be a new OUYA every year. There will be an OUYA 2 and an OUYA 3.
OUYA will take advantage of economies of scale and decreasing prices of components to make the upcoming consoles powerful while assuring backward compatibility with existing ones.
The maiden OUYA console is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chip and will debut in March for Kickstarter backers with retail sales starting in June.
