It’s finally here. Google has finally launched its cloud storage service dubbed as Google Drive. Google is pitching it as a collaborative solution rather than a backup solution and has incorporated all the goodness of Google Docs.
Google says Drive also makes it easy to wade through the documents and images with its improved search. The search will be able to detect places, structures or monuments in images whereas detect text in a scanned document due to Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology.
Google Drive will have an initial storage of 5GB but users can increase it up to 1TB for $50/month.
Drive is now available on Android, Mac and PC whereas the iOS variant is expected to release soon.
