Google is looking to expand Chrome OS’ territory by adding touch-friendly features to the OS. New source code that was published by Google has references related to touch-based user interfaces. For instance, Google has added a new user-agent string as “CrOS Touch” that will help the web browser to deliver a touch-optimized website rather than a regular one. Few other things found are a virtual keyboard, increased space around items to make it more touch friendly and more.
Google says “Chrome OS was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of form factors” but the initial release will be targeted at the notebook form factor only.
Google Chrome OS is currently under pilot testing and is being bundled with Cr-48 notebook.
