We’ve got quite a few mCommerce companies like Mchek, NGPay but this is the first time a telecom operator is offering their version of mCommerce service. Airtel has introduced Airtel money that will allow consumers to make payments to businesses via mobile phones.
Airtel says the service is simple to use and secure where users can shop without any fear of losing cash. However, there are couple of things to ponder here. To use this service, a user needs to have an Airtel connection and even if you switch or use Airtel, you then need to load the cash into the Airtel money account by visiting a retailer. There’s no option to link your credit or debit card with the service, at least not for now.
The service is currently being offered to Delhi NCR customers but Airtel has promised to launch the service in other cities as well.
