Looks like Intel and Nvidia have buried the hatchet to enter into a new multi-year cross licensing deal. Starting January 18, 2011 both the companies will enter into a comprehensive 6-year agreement that will allow both the companies to use each other’s’ patents and also resolve all the pending litigations and other disputes.
To be more specific, Nvidia gets the license to use Intel patents pertaining to x86 and other products whereas Intel will get access to Nvidia’s patents as discussed in the agreement. Additionally, Intel will also pay $1.5b in licensing fees to Nvidia.
