Researcher, iSuppli has confirmed that Nokia N8’s components cost is similar to a 16GB iPhone 4. iSuppli who did the tear-down analysis claims the complete N8 hardware costs $187.47, which is same as iPhone 4’s $187.51.
The most expensive component in the phone is N8’s 3.5-inch AMOLED display and touchscreen that costs $39.25, followed by the phone’s internal storage that costs around $37.
The phone retails for about $750 in the US (26k in India) but these hardware component prices are not the only things while determining the final selling price. It also takes into account things like software development costs, R&D, marketing etc.
