Not everyone likes watching 3D movies or play 3D games. Nintendo knows it too, which is why their upcoming 3D-capable DS handheld console will have a switch to turn on or off the 3D content. In an interview with Forbes, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed that “it will be easy to turn off the 3-D function on the new machine, allowing people to play games, with or without 3-D.” He did not say how will it be possible but the easiest way seems a dedicated switch, just like Samsung’s AMOLED 3D phone.
Furthermore, Iwata also confirmed to devise a new solution to tackle software piracy. The current DS consoles can be easily compromised with the use of widely available flash cards.
