This has got to be the oddest lawsuits in recent times and yes, you have to LOL. Gregory McKenna sued the iPod company because they conspired with the Italian Mafia threatening to kill him. How? Via words inserted in some songs on his iPod.
The lawsuit claims that McKenna bought two iPods, Shuffle from eBay and iPod Mini from Apple Store and were affixed with receivers that transmitted timely messages from Mafia to him. Couple of instances include playing “I’m going to kill him” in some song and “Hermes” in the song “Still Tippin” by Mike Jones.
“The recording of death threats and other evidence prove that APPLE INC. conspired with the Mafia and other Defendants to manufacture, distribute, and sell illegally bugged iPods and other electronic equipment to Plaintiff to perpetuate the stalking, extortion, and torture.”
By the way, has someone dared to tell Mr. McKenna that he does not need a lawyer but a psychiatrist?
