Acer’s chairman JT Wang has confirmed that their first Android netbooks will also have Windows, enabling the netbook with two operating systems. While consumers have nothing to complain since they’ll get the best of two worlds, Acer’s move is attributed to the apprehension of an Android-only netbook.
They reckon that dual OS strategy is a safe bet because consumer’s acceptance towards an Android netbook is not known. The non-workability of many software on Android could be another reason why Acer wanted to give Windows as an added option. Wang did not comment on the possible price of such netbooks but we reckon it wouldn’t cost more than the currently selling Windows netbooks.
Acer is also planning to sell Android-only netbooks if they get positive response from the cellular operators.
