It has taken some time for Nokia to realize but they have finally got a motion sensing game, via its N-gage platform. The first game to be motion controlled will be the upgraded version of Bounce Boing Voyage which is planned to arrive in Spring this year.
Motion sensing gaming will be supported only with devices having an integrated accelerometer like N79, N82, N85, N95, N96, 6210 Navigator etc. All the current Bounce Boing Voyage users will get a free upgrade.
How it works:
Motion control support enables players to guide the Bounce ball through different surreal worlds with the built-in motion sensor in their N-Gage compatible device. In Bounce Boing Voyage, players can control the Bounce ball by moving their device in the desired direction. Lifting the device upwards makes Bounce jump on its way to free the land of Poingpingy.
Accelerometer based games are not new on Nokia S60 platform. A single search on Nokia Mosh will reveal how popular it is. However, giving motion control an official backing opens a new way for developers to interact with N-gage devices.
I really want a motion sensing Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart like it is for the iPhone. Whose with me?
