HTC has a successful run selling phones in European countries including Germany. But the recent developments hint that HTC may have to stop selling their phones if they don’t reach an agreement with IPCom.
IPCom filed a case against HTC accusing them of infringing the ‘100 series’ patents which included UMTS related patents used in HTC handsets. The German court ruled the decision in favor of IPCom that enforces HTC to ban imports of the handsets.
As with many high profile legal lawsuits, this is also expected to be settled in closed doors but for any reason it fails, it could drastically impact the sales of HTC phones.
