You know, deriving price of the handsets on the basis of hardware purchases is actually baseless but iSuppli loves to do it, and so do we. This time they have stripped down Blackberry Storm and calculated the cost of each component present in the device. The study says that $203 is the total cost of purchases, of which, the $35 Qualcomm processor is the costliest. Of course, the actual cost of the phone might be something else because of other intangible costs like marketing, patents etc. but the hardware is darn cheap for RIM’s first touchscreen phone.
