Renoir and Pixon please make way for the new heavyweight champion coming from the land of rising sun. Casio, the maker of the phone refrains from giving any marketing friendly name but simply christens it as W63CA Exilim phone. The clamshell phone uses Casio’s ‘Exilim engine for Mobile’ and packs a lot of photography features that is enough to give a decent point-and-shoot digital camera a run for its money. The effective megapixel counts goes up to 8.1 megapixels and features a wide-angle lens, 9-point AF with face detection, continuous shooting, anti-shake and 10X digital zoom. It supports video recording which is complemented with a ‘Ideal for YouTube’ mode. The YouTube feature allows the phone to record the video at 30fps.
The W63CA features is not limited to camera only. It boasts a 3.1-inch OLED screen with WVGA resolution (800X480 pixels) that can be twisted much like the screen of a tablet PC. In short, it will transform the phone to a digital camera with a large screen working as a live viewfinder. Finally, there’s 1Seg for live TV, microSD card slot, TV-Out, Bluetooth, mobile dictionary and ability to read aloud words translated from Japanese to English and vice versa.
The phone, unfortunately is limited to Japan with KDDI scheduled to release it in early November.

how do you get the photos off the phone and onto a computer. My pc does not recognize the phone – do I need a special piece of software/driver?
Thanks!
