Finnish giant, Nokia is continuing its march to widen the market share with its competitors. Yesterday, they unveiled a number of entry level phones for the masses. Reportedly, these phones were on display to the masses on its special Nokia Express Train. The journey starts from Safdurjung station and will cover eight major stations in the Northern part of India. Railways connect 13 million passengers everyday. Ultimately, the train is the best way to connect to the masses. Also, the consumer is the king and he decides which brand suits his pocket and what are the features that he wants in his phone. Therefore, we felt that the train is a place where he could spend time looking at our phones.
To start with are the Nokia 1200 and 1208 phones.
Both are very identical in features and looks except for the fact that 1200 comes in a monochrome display. These phones have a pretty nifty feature known as call time tracking wherein the call gets automatically disconnected at the user set time. Another feature is that they have multi phonebook allowing different users to use the same phone with a personalized phonebook.
Raising the bar are the 1650 candybar phone and 2660 clamshell phone. 1650 offers 75 language support and comes with a flashlight and FM Radio. 2660 is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, GPRS, FM Radio.
Slimmest in the portfolio is Nokia 2630. The phone has an integrated VGA cam, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPRS. All packed in 9.9mm of thickness. Next is 2760 clamshell phone featuring dual screen. It has the same features of 2630 and an addition of video recording and playback.
Finally, we have an entry level phone for the CDMA band. Dubbed as 2505, this phone has a flashlight, 65K color display, FM Radio and loudspeaker.
