Microsoft is leaving no stones unturned to market its Vista OS, atleast in India. Instead of marketing the OS in tech magazines or any other related media, they are finding their potential customers in coffee shops. Microsoft Vista’s WOW campaign can be seen in 370 outlets of Café Coffee Day spanning 60 cities all over India.
To elicit a ‘Wow’ reaction, the cafes were completely ‘Vista-ised’.” Starting from the door panel to the menu, the fundamental colours were changed to blue-green Windows Vista palette. A special-edition brew called ‘Wow-ffee’- a cappuccino with an orange buzz – was also introduced. According to Rishi Shrivastava, director Windows client, Microsoft India, Wow-ffee is selling about 8,000 cups daily. Café Beat, the in-house newspaper of CCD, also has detailed consumer messaging about Windows Vista.
