Damn! Hackers have done it again. The group which calls themselves “BluePrint” have released a driver named as, XBOX360.HD-DVDRom.UDF.Reader.v2.5.WindowsXP-BluePrint which makes the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive to work with Windows XP SP2. This driver is not easily available unless you manage to get it from some warez or p2p network. However, this hack works because the Xbox drive supports Universal Disc Filesystem v2.5 which is also used by Toshiba for their HD DVD drives. So ultimately UDF plays an important role here.
More details, here.
