I am sure this sport is not that famous in the western hemisphere but in Asia, particularly in India, its a cult. I am also one of them and every cricket game for PC excites me. So can we expect a cricket game like FIFA-esque detailing and gameplay? Though EA Sports have failed in their previous attempts, the latest offering seems to have some weight. Cricket 2007 will be released in early November 2006 for PS2 and PC. The game will have fully licensed squads, a new Century Stick control system and a realistic gameplay.
The producer of EA Canada, Justin Forrest says, “This is the cricket game for both hardcore and casual cricket gamers alike. It is accessible for the new user and full of the subtleties and nuances that make the great sport of cricket so unique. Our new, innovative ‘Century Stick’ control system will change the way all fans approach gameplay as you’ll now have full control over foot choice, shot selection, shot power, and shot direction – it’s never felt this close to actually wielding a bat before. You won’t experience cricket this authentic without putting on your whites and walking down the pavilion steps yourself.”
