We’ve already seen it in live pictures and LG has now officially acknowledged the Optimus Sol smartphone (E730). Optimus Sol might not be a fight to the current breed of high-end smartphones but Optimus Sol sits well in the mid-range price segment. The 9.8mm thick phone runs Android 2.3 OS and sports a 3.8-inch WVGA Ultra AMOLED display, which LG touts to have a superior color gamut than regular AMOLEDs.
Additionally the phone features a 1GHz processor, 5MP autofocus camera, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA and more.
Optimus Sol will be released in mid-September in Europe followed by other regions.
