Nokia today announced four new phones from the Cseries family in Kenya. The phones are C1-00, C1-01,C1-02 and C2. Starting with the C1-00, the phone is the first Nokia to sport a dual-SIM solution. It however, does not support dual standby which means a user can use only one number at any time. C1-00 comes with a dedicated button to switch between SIM cards and will feature a color screen, FM Radio and battery standby of up to six weeks.
C1-01 and C1-02 on the other hand, are single SIM phones. Both the phones have a color screen, GPRS and microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB. The only difference between both these phones will be C1-01’s VGA camera. C1-01 and C1-02 are priced at 39 and 35 euros respectively.
Finally, it’s the C2 that supports dual-SIM as well as dual standby. The C2’s primary SIM slot is placed under the battery whereas the second one is hot-swappable allowing users to remove or insert the SIM even when the phone is on.
Additionally, the C2 supports Nokia Messaging, FM Radio, music player and microSD card slot up to 32GB. It will go for 45 euros.
The availability of these phones are: C1-00 – Q3 2010, C1-01 – early Q4 2010, C1-02 and C2 – late Q4 2010.
