Samsung’s US subsidiary will soon be selling a decent range of laptops to fight for the market share this upcoming holiday season. They’ll also be letting loose its first netbook, NC10 soon for a modest price of $499.

Notebooks to be launched are – X360, X460, Q310, R610, P460 and P560. The first two notebooks, X360 and X460 are the same which we mentioned before and the pricing for these starts from $1,599.

Q310 is a 13.3-inch notebook which starts from $1,149 while R610, a 16-inch monster will go for $1049. Finally, the last two notebooks to make an entry are P460 and P560 which are rugged offerings coming from Samsung’s stable.

All the notebooks are pretty identical in specifications with Intel Core 2 Duo processor onboard, 3GB RAM, Wi-Fi, 1.3 megapixel camera, 3x USB 2.0 ports, LAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and HDMI output. Q310 seems a basic mobile offering whereas R610 is more of multimedia workhorse. It differentiates itself with an integrated albeit discreet 10-key pad and dedicated 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS graphics card.

The rugged options come with a spill resistant keyboard, shock resistant HDD, fingerprint reader and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS GPU for handling the gaming and multimedia department. P460 and P560 will start selling from $1,149.

Samsung Electronics has added a new notebook, X460 to its lightweight X series. The laptop weighs just under 2kg and gives a lot of reasons to be your companion notebook. It has 14.1-inch LED backlit screen supporting WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution, Centrino 2 onboard, RAM up to a maximum of 4GB with HDD storage varying from 120GB to 320GB and super slim optical drive. There’s also a powerful GeForce 9200M GS GPU to fulfill your gaming needs.

Additional features are the same as Samsung’s NC10 netbook like Protect-o-Edge magnesium alloy casing to protect from occasional bumps, anti-bacterial keyboard sprinkled with nano-sized silver ion powder, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

Samsung claims that the bundled 6-cell battery can provide a working time of around 5 hours. The X460 will be available from October this year in European countries UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Netherlands, and also Russia, China, Honkong, Turkey and Korea.
