HP has announced the new ENVY line of notebooks that touts to offer precision-crafted, high performance notebooks with HP Metal Etching and concierge service.

Built on HP owned Voodoo ENVY brand, HP is offering ENVY 13 featuring the brightest display in its class and ENVY 15 taking the crown for company’s fastest notebook.

The ENVY 13 comes in full aluminum and magnesium body that helps it to pack decent computing hardware in less than an inch of thickness. The notebook is equipped with the Radiance Display that offers a brightness of 410nit, improved color gamut and 8ms response time.

Core 2 Duo handles the processing tasks while ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 takes care of the graphics which can be switched to integrated graphics with the help of ATI Switchable Graphics tech. It also has a VGA webcam, HP Clickpad and a whopping 18 hour battery life.

The 15.6-inch ENVY 15 is the fastest consumer notebook HP has ever produced. Coming in a full metal casing, the ENVY 15 gives an option to go for the Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB DDR3 RAM, add two SSD drives with RAID-0 configuration and features a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 GPU, VGA webcam optimized for low light conditions and up to 7 hours of battery life.

ENVY 13 and 15 will start selling in US from October 18 with a starting price of $1699 and $1799 respectively.

Here is another reason to be at CES this year. Laptop Mag has got an exclusive hands-on the HP Firefly injected with ‘Voodoo DNA’ prototype and is said to grace the HP’s booth at the event. The notebook is huge with 17-inch screen and 13-pound of mass (definitely not luggable), overclocking support and a spec sheet that will please every gamer – 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad Core CPU, 4GB RAM, 7,200 rpm 250GB HDD and a couple of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs running in CrossFire mode.

It further awes you with customizable keyboard backlight, strategically placed multi-touch trackpad, Creative X-Fi audio technology and night vision webcam. There’s also a secondary 4.3-inch display (800X480 pixels) sitting beneath the main screen allowing it to function like an extended display. I would be really interested if this comes to retail with, of course, a decent price tag.

Alongside Envy 133, Voodoo also unveiled a high end desktop Omen to please the hardcore gamers. Braced in all aluminum casing, this PC stands 22-inches tall and makes all the necessary arrangements to keep the machine cool with its copper liquid cooling mechanism. On the outside, it places a 7-inch display which doubles up as a secondary one. While the inside features a couple of Core 2 Extreme QX9770 processors, 8GB DDR3 RAM and option of GeForce 8800 Ultra or ATI Radeon HD2870. The PC is make to order which is exclusive to invite only basis. Pricing starts from $7000 and goes up to $20000.

The rumor turns out to be true. Voodoo has announced the world’s thinnest notebook, the Envy 133. The notebook is just 0.7” thick which is just 0.06” thinner than Macbook Air. Envy 133 has 13.3” backlit display with Intel Core 2 Duo processor onboard, SSD or HDD option, HDMI and 2 USB ports all housed in a carbon fiber casing. There’s also an instant-on option which lets the user to surf the web, watch videos or listen to music without booting of the Windows. Available from June 20 and pricing starts from $2099.
