<p>You know the road ahead is rough when there’s no one around you to support. The entity on this road is UIQ whose crutches, Sony Ericsson and Motorola started showing disinterest in the abilities of the platform. This resulted in both the companies announcing their decision to move away from UIQ in search of greener pastures (read Android). </p>
<p>Nokia’s Symbian Foundation did come in for some relief but UIQ eventually succumbed. Johan Sandberg, UIQ’s Chief exec said their filing of bankruptcy is because of “no opportunities to create a new line of business in the current financial climate.”</p>
