<p>Here’s some bad news for those using phones with improper IMEI. The ban on all illegal phones without IMEI will come into effect from tomorrow as operators will pull the plug off to follow the government’s directive. </p>
<p>Although <a href="http://coai.in/" target="_blank">COAI</a> (Cellular Operators Association of India) had initiated the process to implant legitimate IMEIs to a user’s phone, around 25m subscribers will still be affected by this move.  </p>
<p>According to government, phones with fake IMEI poses a security threat as it becomes difficult for them to track communication made from such devices. </p>
