A new set of pictures reveal the previously speculated Hercules as the Galaxy S II variant for T-Mobile USA. Images published by TmoNews confirm the phone’s model number — SGH-T989 as well as the front and back view of the phone. Just like the original Galaxy S variants, this US-bound Galaxy S II will also have a facelift, which will resemble somewhat to the Nexus S albeit with a larger screen. The back side sports a brushed metal finish that rather looks nice than the textured look of the international Galaxy S II.

The phone will also feature some new hardware like the 4.5-inch display, 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, NFC and 42Mbps HSPA support.

There’s no certain date as to when this baby will be announced but rest assured the day is nigh.

T-Mobile has expanded its myTouch lineup of phones with the 4G-enabled myTouch 4G Slide. Developed by HTC, the phone claims to have the most advanced camera in a smartphone that can be a viable replacement for entry-level point-and-shoot cameras.

Backing its best camera claim, the phone features an 8 megapixel sensor with dual LED flash and comes with a backside illuminated sensor and wider aperture lens that improves low light performance, has a zero-shutter lag, SweepShot to capture panoramic pictures, ClearShot HDR for clicking photos in high-contrast lighting, BurstShot to shoot pictures in quick succession and 1080p full HD video recording.

Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon’s 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3 OS with HTC Sense UI 3.0, 3.7-inch WVGA LCD, Swype on-screen keyboard or a sliding physical keyboard and 4G support.

The phone will be released in July for $199.99 on 2-year contract.

Samsung is developing a new Android smartphone for T-Mobile USA that will make Infuse 4G a thing of the past. Thisismynext.com managed to have a glimpse on some confidential docs that spills some info on the upcoming Android 2.3 smartphone from Samsung.

Codenamed as Hercules, the phone is expected to launch sometime in Q3 and feature a huge 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display along with a whopping 42Mbps HSPA support. One thing different from other high-end smartphones from Samsung is the choice of CPU, which will be Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz dual-core APQ8060 CPU for Hercules.

Additionally you can expect an 8MP camera with full HD video recording support, NFC, 1GB RAM and ROM and microSD card slot.

Operator wars in United States are about to get exciting as AT&T has announced to take over T-Mobile USA. T-Mobile USA which was owned by Deutsche Telekom will be sold to AT&T for a cash and stock valued at US$39 billion.

AT&T deems an acquisition of another network will help them expand their capacity sooner and also give an opportunity to improve call quality. AT&T has also confirmed to expand its 4G LTE footprint in US to reach almost 95 percent of the population.

This is what Randall Stephenson, AT&T Chairman and CEO had to say.

“This transaction represents a major commitment to strengthen and expand critical infrastructure for our nation’s future. It will improve network quality, and it will bring advanced LTE capabilities to more than 294 million people. Mobile broadband networks drive economic opportunity everywhere, and they enable the expanding high-tech ecosystem that includes device makers, cloud and content providers, app developers, customers, and more. During the past few years, America’s high-tech industry has delivered innovation at unprecedented speed, and this combination will accelerate its continued growth.”

Stephenson continued, “This transaction delivers significant customer, shareowner and public benefits that are available at this level only from the combination of these two companies with complementary network technologies, spectrum positions and operations. We are confident in our ability to execute a seamless integration, and with additional spectrum and network capabilities, we can better meet our customers’ current demands, build for the future and help achieve the President’s goals for a high-speed, wirelessly connected America.”

T-Mobile today introduced a new smartphone in its myTouch series, called as the myTouch. The new myTouch device takes some design cues from its keyboard-toting myTouch Slide but brings in some decent features that will allow users to enjoy high-quality video calls on HSPA+ speeds.

The phone features a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, HSPA+ support, 1GHz MSM8255 processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo), Wi-Fi, 5MP camera with HD video recording, microSD card slot ( 8GB bundled), DLNA to wirelessly share photos and videos on a larger screen. myTouch also includes three features that are exclusive to the phone – Genius Button to compose email, SMS or initiate a call; Faves Gallery that brings the most contacted contacts together and myModes to create customized home screens for work and home.

T-Mobile hasn’t revealed the price but has pegged the release to be in “time for the holidays” in colors of white, black, plum and red.
