Sprint’s event yesterday showed off an Android phone featuring two touchscreen displays. The phone known as Kyocera Echo features two 3.5-inch touchscreen displays (800×480 pixels) and the specialty of it is that both the displays can work independently or as one, according to user’s preference.

In short, you can check your email on one screen while surfing the web on another under ‘Simul-Task’ mode or use it as a 4.5-inch (800×960 pixels) device (measured diagonally) under ‘Tablet’ mode. The phone also has an optimized mode where a single app utilizes both the screen — like watching youtube videos on one screen and queuing more vids on the other.

As far as other features go, the phone runs on android 2.2 OS and comes with 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 1GB internal memory with microSD card slot up to 32GB and 1370mAh battery.

The phone will be available from spring at Sprint for $199.99 on contract and $100 mail-in rebate.

HTC has announced three new 4G-enabled phones for three different operators in the US market. The HTC EVO Shift 4G expected on Sprint is an extension of the original HTC EVO 4G with a full QWERTY keyboard. Running on Android 2.2 OS, the phone features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 4G speeds, HTC Sense UI and more. It will sell for $149.99 on contract and after $100 mail-in rebate.

Next up is HTC Inspire 4G for AT&T. The Inspire 4G will take advantage of AT&T’s HSPA+ network and bring in the support for HTC’s htcsense.com service, making it the first US-based handset to do so. Carved out of a single sheet of aluminum, the Inspire 4G features a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, DLNA, Dolby, SRS surround sound and 8MP camera with dual LED flash. It will sell in Q1 2011 at an undisclosed price.

Sprint has launched a unique case for iPod touch that not only protects the iPod but also allows users to surf the internet using Sprint’s 3G connection. The ZTE Peel that will go on sale from November 14 is a MiFi-like device that slides nicely on second and third-gen iPod touch devices and takes advantage of Sprint’s 3G network to create a Wi-Fi hotspot, which can be used by iPod touch to browse the web anywhere. Another advantage is that Peel’s connection can be used by an additional Wi-Fi-enabled device.

ZTE Peel supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and wireless security through WEP 64-bit.

Peel will sell for $79.99.
