AMD will expand its Radeon brand to sell RAMs as well. The chip company that also happens to sell GPUs under the same brand has started selling Radeon-branded DDR3 RAMs in Japan. In addition to the claim that these RAMs are optimized for AMD CPUs and APUs, the DDR3 RAM will be launched under three series – Entertainment, Ultra Pro Gaming and Enterprise. The difference between the series is the speed, which is 1333MHz and 1600MHz for Entertainment and Ultra Pro Gaming respectively. AMD is yet to confirm the speed of the Enterprise Series RAMs.

All the RAMs will be available in 2GB density.

AMD Radeon RAMs are available in Japan in limited numbers for a price of around 1,570 yen or USD20.

AMD is turning on the heat with its onslaught of graphics cards. First, they announced two pocket friendly cards and now a mid-range high-definition GPU aimed to take on NVIDIA’s GeForce 9800GT. AMD has made the card pretty identical in features but gives an edge to its offering than 9800GT.

HD 4830 hails from the 4800 series which has a 512MB GDDR3 memory, supports PCI Express 2.0 interface and scores over 9800GT with the support for DirectX 10.1. Though the core clock speed of 4830 is less than 9800GT, it gains on the stream processing unit which goes up to 640. Other things it boasts is the CrossFireX technology that enables a gamer to attach four GPUs to boost gaming performance, HDMI, TV-out and DVI ports. It sells for $130.
