Palm Pre’s GSM iteration was first captured at MWC sporting a Vodafone SIM. And after a lull for all these months, the GSM Pre is back and reporting from Vietnam, where apparently, these are being manufactured. You can check the video which actually is a lengthy one and also shows the SIM proof to [...]
Interesting move came to light yesterday that had been brewing since the announcement of Pre. Palm have announced Jon Rubinstein as the new CEO while Ed Colligan, the departed CEO will join Elevation Partners. Jon is already the Chairman of the company and will assume his role from tomorrow, June 12. Palm possibly hinted [...]
It’s not even a week before Pre went on sale and users have unearthed the webOS root image, which was found in Palm’s webOS Reset Doctor tool. For now, this does not mean much to you and me but developers have already started tinkering with the image that could reveal the whole new facet [...]
Looks like Sprint’s exclusive Pre joy will be short-lived. Verizon’s Lowell McAdam confirmed that they are planning to launch Palm Pre within the next six months, which means Sprint’s exclusive Pre contract will mostly hold valid only till the end of this year. He also confirmed few other phones that could excite existing Verizon [...]
Palm Pre will go for $199.99 with a contract and a rebate but if you’re the guy who loves to be free, Sprint will sell it for $549. To make things more clear, this high price is without any contract commitment but you’ll still get the phone locked to Sprint. If you’re waiting for [...]
Yup, it’s official now. Sprint will be selling Palm Pre from June 6, that’s two days before Apple’s WWDC event starts. Besides trying to steal some thunder off WWDC, they have pegged the price same as the current iPhone 3G. It will go for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two year [...]
It looks like Sprint has spilled the beans on the Pre release date. Notebooks.com managed to take a screenshot of the countdown timer which reveals the day to June 6. The official confirmation is expected today but this date seems to be legit as the site has now taken down the post. [via notebook]
Even though Palm had promised to launch Pre before the first half of this year, there were no sights on the release date. Now according a tipster, Palm and Sprint will make a big announcement in the Wall Street Journal on May 19, which easily concludes that nothing is bigger than Pre for Palm [...]
Palm just let the cat out of the bag by confirming Pre’s international plans. Well, it won’t travel the seven seas yet but its neighbouring country, Canada will get the phone in the second half of 2009 exclusively on Bell Mobility. No word on the pricing as yet but you can sign up for [...]
Well, you say sure it is but Palm’s craftily worded post doesn’t mention it even if they meant the same. According to a tweet they’ll first look at reviewer’s specifics before handing out the phone. In short, you could get a Pre, Treo Pro or even Eos, depending on your worth on the interwebs. [...]
UPDATE: Engadget has managed to score a non blurry picture along with the full specs [below]. They are calling it Palm Eos. Hot on the heels of another webOS enabled phone rumor, the blogs rooted with deep connections are doing the dirty work to extract more details. Thankfully, BGR and Techcrunch have got something [...]
iSuppli, popular for giving down the estimates of gadgets has now set its eye on the yet to be released Palm Pre. By comparing to the Q2 component and assembly pricing, they have concluded that Pre takes around $170 to make, which includes $138 of hardware cost, under $10 of manufacturing and basic test [...]
Oh yea, this was on the cards but I didn’t expect to see the miniaturized version of Pre to come out this year, not even rumored. But contrary to my belief, Palm is already readying another webOS enabled device to complement the Pre says Techcrunch’s source. “Palm is very far along on a second [...]
Oh yes, McNamee’s claim for Palm Pre last week was a bit blown up and Palm rightly turned it down. In a free writing prospectus filed with the SEC, Palm has agreed that the statement by the co-founder of Palm’s largest stakeholding company was exaggerated. The statement in the second paragraph of the article [...]
Ok, being a major investor in Palm would want you to say good things about it, but Mr. McNamee let us be practical. Roger McNamee, the co-founder of Elevation Partners has a 39% stake in Palm and is making bold claims that Pre will make iPhone users to switch to Palm’s new webOS based [...]
