<p>Research in Motion has confirmed which older devices will get the new software bump. Blackberry Bold 9700, Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G have been confirmed to get an upgrade to Blackberry 6 in the coming months. <a href="http://techtickerblog.com/2010/08/03/blackberry-torch-9800-gets-official/" target="_blank">Torch</a> and all future Blackberry devices will obviously run the new OS. </p>
<p>Blackberry 6 is RIM’s answer to the new touch-friendly user interface consumers have gotten accustomed to. The OS offers visual and smooth interface allowing users to do more. There are up to 5 customizable home screens, context-sensitive Action Menus, webkit-based browser giving full HTML rendering and tabbed window support, unified social feed and enhanced multimedia experience like media sync support with iTunes, Windows Media Player, Wi-Fi music sync and universal search.</p>

<p>Research in Motion has finally put a price to Pearl 3G that was announced last month. Both the Pearl 3G variants – one with compact QWERTY (9100) and other with alphanumeric keypad (9105) will sell for a price of around Rs. 20,000.</p>
<p>Pearl 3G is a successor of RIM’s successful compact Pearl device and features a fast 624MHz CPU, 256MB memory, 360&#215;440 resolution display, optical trackpad, media player, 3.2MP autofocus camera with flash, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, microSD card slot, Blackberry App World and 1150mAh battery. </p>

<p>It seems <em>Thestreet</em> has jumped the gun and unveiled two Blackberry devices, apparently meant for <a href="http://www.attendwes.com/" target="_blank">WES 2010</a>. The phones are Blackberry 9650 and Pearl 3G and while detailed specs are not yet known, the site reckons nothing spectacular but only a “slightly updated versions of existing models.”</p>
<p>BB 9650 is said to feature a large high-res screen, 3.2MP camera, trackpad, GPS, Wi-Fi and support for quad-band GSM or dual-band CDMA/EV-DO. The phone’s expected to arrive on Sprint. </p>

<p>The pricing of the phones and availability for other regions are not known but could be unveiled at the WES that begins from tomorrow.</p>

Motorola may have hit the right note to appeal the US citizens but still have a lot of work to do to please the world. No need to say their current financial status must have made them realize that US Market does not equal the World Market. </p>

Coming from the Pearl series, this one will give the user all the benefits of push e-mail in a small form factor. <strong>8220</strong> has two screens – external and internal both producing a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and 240 x 320 pixels respectively. It borrows the same Suretype keyboard layout and includes EDGE and Wi-Fi as the connectivity options. </p>
<p>There’s also a GPS receiver integrated, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, music player and microSDHC card compatible. The phone’s 900 mAh battery has enough juice to pull off 4 hours worth of talk time and over 14 hours as standby. </p>
