TVs are not the only electronics that are going 3D. Acer has announced two new projectors that are capable to project 3D content. Coupled with Nvidia’s 3D Vision, the projectors – H5360 and X1261 – are able to crank out realistic 3D experience by converting regular 2D images to three dimensional. Other than that, the [...]
Nvidia has officially acknowledged the next-generation ION graphics, infamously known as ION 2 at the CeBIT expo. It’s a discrete GPU that attaches via a PCI Express slot and supports Intel’s latest Pine Trail CPUs. Nvidia touts the next-gen ION is able to crank out graphics 10 times faster and has a huge 10 hours [...]
We’ve got few laptops that come with discrete GPUs and a dedicated switch that can be turned on or off as per user’s needs. It’s good to have such a switch since it can help optimizing notebook’s battery life but most notebooks with discrete GPUs are devoid of such a switch, which is why Nvidia [...]
Nvidia had a decent display of Tegra 2 devices at CES early this month but most devices shown were internet tablets. Now Fudzilla has gathered some information that says that Nvidia will be showing couple of new tablets and “other” devices at MWC next month. There are no prizes for guessing that those “other” devices [...]
ION2 did not come up at the CES but now we’ve got some meaty details regarding the next-gen ION by way of Asus’ EeeTop PC’s brochure leak. Blogeee discovered the ION2 mention in a listing of Asus’ EeeTop ET2010PNT and according to the doc, ION2 is the same as G310 GPU, which supposedly is a [...]
There were no signs of Ion 2 at the CES – apparently because of this – but the graphics maker outed the next-generation of Tegra. The Tegra 2 is more powerful than the previous generation with up to 1GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 and has 8 processors that are used together or independently to [...]

Now, Netbooknews has heard from its sources that Nvidia Tegra will power the Taiwanese’ tablet offering. It’s not clear which Tegra platform will find the place but since it is rumored to go on sale [...]

One of the promising tablets is anticipated from Hyderabad-based Notion Ink who will unveil its Tegra-powered “Smartpad” running Android OS. Specifications look rock [...]
The last we heard about Ion 2 was Acer cornering number of chips from Nvidia and was ready to be launched at CES. However, Fudzilla has now heard directly from the chipmaker that they won’t officially launch the chipset at the CES but only showcase. Nvidia’s senior manager confirmed the launch will be in Q1 [...]
Tegra SoC didn’t manage to capitalize as Nvidia would’ve hoped but this isn’t letting the chip maker to roll out its successor. Nvidia’s executive has confirmed about Tegra 2 being unveiled at the CES 2010 along with showcase of different devices like smartbooks, smartphones, MIDs etc.

Nvidia is yet to detail its Ion 2 platform but the Taiwanese rumormonger is claiming they’ve already landed orders from Acer. Ion 2 supports Intel’s Atom N450, N470, D510 or D410 CPUs and seemingly Acer wants to gain on this by integrating the Ion solution to make the netbooks (or nettops) more powerful.
Intel’s Pineview [...]
It seems the e-book reader market is following the same trend as the netbook market. Every company wants a piece of the market and though each product is more or less the same, they’ll try to offer some distinguishing factor over the other one. We’ve already seen a number of companies selling their e-book readers [...]
It’s good to see Asus breaking from the mould of nettops with rectangular shells. The EeeBox EB1501 not only adopts a metallic curvy chassis but is decently spec’d with Nvidia’s Ion chipset onboard and a surprise inclusion in a nettop – a slot loading optical drive. The core specifications include Atom 330 dual core processor, [...]
