LG and iriver’s Freestyle music phone gets official for LG Telecom

LG and iriver have announced Freestyle (LG-LB4400) music phone for LG’s cellular network. iriver says Freestyle has been created for the youth who wants to enjoy any type of music anywhere, anytime. The phone boasts 40 hours of continuous music playback, supports wide range of codecs like FLAC, DRM-free, Dolby Mobile, 14 equalizer options, Library Mode that apparently plays soft music so as not to interrupt while reading, touch sensitive LED music controls, 3.5mm headphone jack and T-DMB.

As far as other features are concerned, the phone has 2.8-inch WQVGA LCD display, 3MP camera, 8GB internal memory, Bluetooth and USB 2.0.

It will come in white, orange and brown color options.

iRiver unveils P7 PMP

iRiver’s P7 rectangular shaped media player is now up for sale. Rocking a vivid 4.3-inch touchscreen display, the player is equipped to play audio formats like MP3/WMA/OGG/ASF/FLAC/APE/WAV/AC-3/AAC and MPEG/DivX/RM/RMVB/H.264 on the video front.

Additionally, it integrates a FM Radio/recorder, speaker, 8 or 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot. The playback time is estimated at around 50 hours and 7 hours for audio and video respectively.

JR is selling the 16GB/8GB variant for $199/$169 while Amazon is taking preorders both the storage sizes.

iRiver P20 and M3 PMPs at IFA

The PMP love for the IFA is bound to get bigger. This time its iRiver doing the honors by revealing DMB struck P20 and GPS enabled M3. The P20 will feature a 4.1-inch AMOLED touch screen display, new SPINN interface and is expected to come in storage variants of 80GB and 120GB. Other than usual PMP functions, it also integrates flash games and a dictionary. Playback time for music, video and DMB is 12, 9, 8 hours respectively. M3, on the other hand, is a 3.5-inch device which has a GPS antenna along with the core PMP functions.

Speedo Aquabeat Waterproof MP3 Player

The swimming gear maker, Speedo has teamed up with iRiver to make a waterproof MP3 Player. Known as Aquabeat, the player will come with 1GB storage space and can function normally up to 3 meters of depth. The player easily clings around the head with easy to use controls on the front. It will start retailing in Japan first at a price of $145.
