Skype has released Skype WiFi app that will enable iOS device owners to quickly find a wireless hotspot. Uniqueness of this app is that users can scan over 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots around the world to access the internet and get billed with the available Skype Credit.

Another advantage of using Skype WiFi is that a user gets billed for the number of minutes they use and not as per the data transferred. The price for accessing Wi-Fi through Skype is US$0.06 and to give consumers a taste of the service, Skype WiFi will be free worldwide from August 20 to August 21 for a maximum period of 60 minutes.

iPhone Dev Team and comex have announced the third iteration of JailbreakMe. JailbreakMe 3.0 works like the previous versions where a user just needs to visit the website to initiate the jailbreak.

The web-based tool supports a number of Apple devices, including iPad 2. The full list of supported devices along with the iOS version are as follows:

Apple’s office apps consisting of Keynote, Pages and Numbers are now available for users using the iPhone or the iPod touch. The iWork suite now takes advantage of the Retina display and allows users to edit, create or share documents on the go.

Users can import or export documents from iWork on Mac or Microsoft Office and print wirelessly using AirPrint. Users can also buy an additional Keynote Remote app to transform their iPhone or iPod touch into a remote control for the Keynote presentation.

Each app is available on the App Store for $9.99 each or a free upgrade to existing iPad iWork users.

Well, that is quick. Apple has released the iOS 4.3.3 update for iDevices that fixes the infamous location data issue. The update as reported earlier, will help to reduce the size of the location cache, will no longer back up location data to iTunes and delete the cache when Location Services is turned off.

The update is available on iTunes and is compatible with iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 3G and 4G.

The iPhone-Dev team has released a newer version of redsn0w that supports untethered jailbreak of iOS 4.3.2. Untethered jailbreak means a user wouldn’t lose the jailbreak even after a restart of the device. The jailbreak will work with all iOS devices supporting 4.3.2 including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3G / 4G and iPad 1.

Users relying on the ultrasn0w unlock should wait for PwnageTool expected later this week.

The images you’re looking at are allegedly of the upcoming iPod touch. The veracity of the images remains an obvious question but the person who sent these images to Macrumor claims this device is indeed the 5th generation iPod touch.

The device is marked at DVT-1 and sports a capacitive home button and 128GB storage. There’s also a FaceTime camera at the front, just like the current-gen iPod touch.

Apple also announced the newer version of iOS that will be pre-installed in the new iPad 2. The iOS 4.3 will come with many features that will improve the overall experience of users with iOS devices. Few features and improvements include Safari browser is claimed to be more faster due to the integration of new Nitro JavaScript engine, improved iTunes Home Sharing feature and AirPlay enhancements.

Two features that will be specific to iPhone and iPad respectively will be the new Personal Hotspot that will allow iPhone to share its data connection with other Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB-connected devices and the side switch for iPad to either lock the screen rotation or mute the audio.

iOS 4.3 will be available on the iPad 2 but original iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 3rd and 4th gen users will be able to download the operating system for free from March 11.

Chronic-Dev team has released Greenpois0n tool that will allow users to jailbreak their iOS 4.2.1 running devices. This jailbreak solution is an untethered one, which means the jailbreak will still be active even after a user restarts his iDevice. However, users planning to unlock the device are warned to stay away as you can lose the unlocking after the jailbreak.

The tool is available now for Mac and Windows.

Continuing with its developer releases, Apple has seeded the third beta of iOS 4.3 to developers. We’re yet to see the full change log but the new build — 8F5166B now allows users to cancel and delete downloading apps. Although a small feature, this will prove handy to many as the only way to delete the apps currently were to let them download first and delete.

Pevious iOS 4.3 builds have brought features like personal Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, improved AirPlay video streaming etc.
