Nvidia has announced a new Kepler-based GPU that promises a good bang for the buck. Nvidia says the GeForce GTX 670 is “engineered from the same DNA” as Nvidia’s high-end GTX 680 but is priced at a modest $399, which compared to the competition gives a 45 percent improved graphics performance while consuming 18 percent less power.

The new GeForce GTX is now available from various card suppliers like Asus, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Zotac etc.

Nvidia has expanded its GeForce range in the Indian market with the GTX 560 GPU, which is based on Nvidia’s Fermi architecture. The graphics card supports number of technologies like Nvidia PhysX, 3D Vision, SLI and Surround and sits well along its GTX 560 Ti sibling.

Priced from Rs.12,399, the GPU comes with a GB of GDDR5 memory and boasts full HD support, DirectX 11 with connectivity options of dual link DVI and mini HDMI port.

The card is now available from Nvidia’s leading partners like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac etc.

LG had expressed its intention to develop processor for mobile devices in the past and they’ve taken the first step towards it by licensing processor technology from ARM. LG seems to have taken inspiration from its Korean counterpart, Samsung who also develops processors for their high-end devices.

Anyways, under the agreement, LG Electronics will get access to ARM’s Cortex processor and ARM Mali GPU range which also includes Cortex-A15 MPCore, Cortex-A9 MPCore processors, ARM Mali-T604 GPU and ARM CoreLink.

LG plans to use these processors in mobile phones, tablets, set top boxes, digital TV etc.

AMD has introduced its new Radeon HD GPU that is touted to be the world’s fastest graphics card. The Radeon HD 6990 scored an impressive P11865 in 3DMark11 that will undoubtedly please the hardcore gamer. The GPU is equipped with 4GB DDR5 memory and features like AMD’s second-gen DirectX11 architecture, Eyefinity multi-display technology to connect up to five displays, AMD PowerTune tech to enable higher clock speed, HDMI 1.4a that brings 3D support and dual-BIOS toggle switch to manually unlock the card and overclock for superior performance.

Nvidia and TSMC have a reason to celebrate as the companies have managed to ship more than 1 billion GeForce graphics processors. Nvidia handles the design of GeForce chips whereas TSMC manufactures it.

Nvidia has announced a new graphics card that claims to be the fastest DirectX 11 GPU. Based on Nvidia’s Fermi architecture, the GeForce GTX 580 has been “reengineered from the transistor-level up” that gives increased performance with minimal power consumption.

The GeForce GTX 580 features 512-cores and 16 PolyMorph engines for excellent tessellation, has an improved performance per watt of over 35 percent and is 30 percent faster than GeForce GTX 480. The card also has a vapor chamber thermal solution that makes it to run at low noise levels.

The GTX 580 is available from different Nvidia partners for a price of around $499.
