India court has warned Internet giants, Google and Facebook to remove offensive content or the sites will be blocked like it is in China. This warning is as a result of a filing of case against them by a private petitioner in a lower court case. The hearing on this will be taking place at the Delhi High court on Monday.

“The lower court gave a ruling asking the companies to take down some content, we appealed that ruling and it is in the higher court,” said a Google spokesman in India on Friday.

A law passed last year in India makes companies responsible for user content posted on their websites, requiring them to take it down within 36 hours in case of a complaint. The lower court affirmed the law last week.

The most missed app for the iPad, the Facebook app launched today to provide iPad users the full Facebook experience. The application now makes it easier to scroll the news feeds with just fingertips.

Besides this, it now offers, bigger and better photo viewing experience. Games, apps, groups and lists are in the left-hand menu, so you do not have to dig around to find the stuff you use most. In addition, messages and notifications are at the top of every screen, so you can respond to friends and keep up with important updates — without losing your place.

The app comes with a bunch of other new features: You can chat with friends right from your iPad, for example, or play games and use apps in full-screen mode. You can also watch high-res videos inline, record HD video and stream to Airplay devices. Facebook for iPad is now available in the Apple App Store.

The world’s largest social network yesterday added some new features to make communication with friends more exciting. In addition to the revamped chat design and group chat feature, Facebook has added video chat support.

The video calling technology is provided by Skype and it requires a small downloadable plugin to work. Disappointingly, there’s no group video calling feature yet but we won’t be surprised to see Facebook adding it to combat Google+’ Hangout.

Facebook will rollout this feature to over 750 million users over the next few weeks but if you can’t wait to try it out, head to the link mentioned below.

Zune HD users can connect with friends on world’s largest social network. Microsoft has released the highly anticipated Facebook app (after Twitter) for Zune HD and is now available for download from the Zune Marketplace.

The app allows user to view/update their status, post photos, videos, view profiles as well as receive messages through the app. Another nifty feature the app adds is the integration of a Zune icon that allows to update the Facebook status to Zune’s currently playing track.

PS3′s new firmware will bring Facebook to the console, confirming the leak from last week. The firmware v3.10 will link the PSN account with Facebook and will enable PS3 to automatically update the Facebook feed with Trophy, PSN purchase history and game specific details.

In addition to social network integration, Sony has also improved the Photo category on the XMB, which will show images in a grid format. Finally, the PSN Friends List has also got a minor update that allows the user to choose a color for his PSN ID.

The firmware is expected soon but in the meantime, here’s a short preview.

Leaks and claims are often dealt with cautious eyes but when the leak comes from none other than the company itself, the info is as good as unofficial confirmation. This just happened with Sony, whose PlayStation UK site spilled some features that will be integrated in the future firmware.

Off the leaked ones, the Facebook integration with XMB looks the most interesting one. Other than that the other screen grabs show possibility of viewing photo thumbnails in a grid layout and colored gamer cards, supposedly to distinguish friends and other contacts.

As it may sound absurd to you and me, the researchers certainly have a different opinion. Often visiting social networking sites can increase the risk of cancer, stroke, heart disease or even dementia. Their justification, you ask? It’s actually the same thing – isolation, that has also been linked to the increasing use of emails, gaming before.

“Increased isolation could alter the way genes work and upset immune responses, hormone levels, and the function of arteries. It could also impair mental performance, which could increase the risk of problems as serious as cancer, stroke, heart disease, and dementia” said a doctor.

Somehow, I agree with the researcher. There are chances of getting a stroke when you know, you’re divorced via such social networking sites.
